On Behalf of | Dec 2, 2016 | Back Taxes or Tax Debt |

It may feel like it’s a long way off, but Tax Day 2017 is actually just around the corner. There will be many people that have to confront significant issues as the deadline approaches. Should they file for an extension? What should they do if they can’t pay what the owe? Will an ongoing audit or action by the IRS compromise their ability to complete their filing?

There are so many complex issues in play when your tax filing is due. Some people really will face a situation where they can’t afford to pay the IRS what they owe. When that happens, what are they to do?

The one thing they shouldn’t do is ignore their reality. If you ignore the problem, fail to communicate with the IRS, or just hope that the issue will “go away” and resolve itself, you will only be making the problem worse for yourself. Get in touch with the IRS an you may be able to come to a compromise on your situation.

Of course, if the IRS is not helping you out with your situation, then you should immediately talk with an attorney to make sure that your case is being handled properly.

At Kundra & Associates, we have worked hard over the years to help people who have unpaid taxes or tax debt. We can aid them in their efforts to deal with the IRS, strike a deal with the agency, or even appeal actions taken by the Internal Revenue Service against them.
